  • Ensuring appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed and residents' dignity, safety and wellbeing remain a priority.
  • Recruiting, supervising, supporting and developing staff to create a motivated and effective team.
  • Managing staff performance, training and development.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders.
  • Managing occupancy, referrals and admissions where required.
  • Supporting effective budget management and ensuring resources are used appropriately.
  • Responding proactively to feedback, complaints and concerns.
  • Preparing for and managing inspections, ensuring the home is consistently inspection-ready.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive and welcoming culture throughout the home.
  • Ensuring the home provides a safe, comfortable and homely environment for residents and staff.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the home and its values within the local community.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing or deputy managing a residential care home for older people.
  • A strong understanding of CQC requirements, care legislation and regulatory compliance.
  • A relevant Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or a willingness to work towards this where appropriate.
  • Experience leading, motivating and developing a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Experience with audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of person-centred care and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage challenging situations confidently and professionally.
  • A commercial and operational understanding of running a care home.
  • A caring, positive and proactive approach.

  • A genuine commitment to promoting residents' dignity, independence and wellbeing.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with residents, relatives, staff and external professionals.
  • A passion for providing high standards of care and creating a genuinely welcoming home environment.
  • £40,000 per annum.
  • Full-time management position.
  • The opportunity to lead a 20-bed residential care home.
  • A friendly and supportive working environment.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • The opportunity to shape and develop the home and its team.
  • A rewarding leadership role where you can make a meaningful difference to residents' lives.
