Registered Manager - Children s Residential Home
Peacehaven
£60,000 - £65,000
Full-time, Permanent
No sponsorship available
You know what a well-run children s home should look and feel like. This is your opportunity to lead one your way.
We are looking for a Registered Manager in East Sussex who wants more than simply keeping a home compliant.
Someone who wants to build a strong team, create a stable home for children and have the authority to make good decisions without feeling as though somebody is looking over their shoulder every five minutes.
You will have real autonomy, but you will not be left on an island.
There is an experienced Responsible Individual behind you, together with Quality & Compliance support and a senior team who understand children s residential care.
This is a Registered Manager role for someone who wants to lead.
What are you walking into?
A children s residential home where your leadership will genuinely matter.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, develop the staff team and make sure safeguarding, care and compliance are not simply boxes being ticked.
Ofsted matters. The Children s Homes Regulations matter. The Quality Standards matter.
But so does creating a home where children feel safe, listened to and cared about.
That balance is exactly what we are looking for.
What will you actually be doing?
You will lead the home, manage and develop the team, oversee safeguarding and care planning and ensure the service is ready for Ofsted at all times.
You will work closely with the Responsible Individual and other professionals while retaining responsibility for the operational running of the home.
You will also be responsible for:
This is not about sitting behind a desk producing paperwork.
It is about knowing your home, knowing your team and knowing the children you are responsible for.
Who are we looking for?
Ideally, you are already working as a Registered Manager or Children s Home Manager and are considering where your career goes next.
However, we will also consider a highly experienced Deputy Manager who has substantial children s residential experience and can clearly demonstrate they are ready to step up.
You will need strong knowledge of safeguarding, the Children s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations.
You will also need a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be actively working towards it.
Experience within SEMH, EBD, therapeutic or trauma-informed residential care would be an advantage.
Why move?
Because your next Registered Manager role should give you something your current one does not.
More autonomy.
A voice.
Experienced support.
The ability to shape a team and a service.
And the opportunity to make the home genuinely yours.
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000
