Housing Officer

Apply Now

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded housing organisation for an Intensive Housing Officer to join its Adult Supported Housing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in supported housing, intensive housing management, housing-related support or community-based support, who is passionate about helping adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities and other complex needs maintain their independence, wellbeing and tenancy.

You will provide structured, person-centred and outcome-focused support to residents, ensuring that support is delivered safely, consistently and in line with agreed support plans and organisational procedures.

The role

As an Intensive Housing Officer, you will:

  • Deliver planned Intensive Housing Management (IHM) and housing-related support to residents.

  • Support adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities and other complex needs.

  • Contribute to assessments, support plans, reviews and resident outcome monitoring.

  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, contact records and support evidence.

  • Promote independence, tenancy sustainment, engagement and positive resident outcomes.

  • Identify and appropriately escalate safeguarding concerns, changes in risk, incidents and welfare concerns.

  • Work closely with residents, families, colleagues, care providers and external partner agencies.

  • Attend service locations, local authority meetings, partner meetings and stakeholder forums as required.

  • Use case-management and ICT systems effectively while maintaining high standards of data protection and confidentiality.

  • Follow and embed organisational approaches to resident journeys, recording standards and service improvement.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in supported housing, housing-related support, Intensive Housing Management or community-based support.

  • Experience supporting adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities or other complex needs.

  • Experience maintaining high-quality case records, support notes, risk information and outcome evidence.

  • A good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and tenancy sustainment.

  • Experience working collaboratively with residents, families, colleagues and external agencies.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • The ability to work independently, organise your workload and manage competing priorities.

  • Good IT and case-management skills, with a strong focus on accurate record keeping.

  • A person-centred, strengths-based approach to supporting residents.

A Level 3 qualification in housing, health and social care, community support or a related discipline would be desirable, although equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Additional qualifications or experience in CIH, safeguarding, mental health, health and social care, supported/exempt accommodation or tenancy sustainment would also be advantageous.

Why apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected housing organisation where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of residents.

You will be joining a supportive team and working within a service that is committed to resident independence, high-quality support, safeguarding and positive outcomes.

If you have experience in supported housing or mental-health services and are looking for a role where your work can have a meaningful impact, we would be keen to hear from you.
