Young Person Support Worker
Durham 17- 20 per Hour
We're recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Young Person Support Worker to support children and young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) in the Durham area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis, helping young people achieve positive outcomes, build independence, and access enriching experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
The Role
You will provide person-centred support tailored to the individual's needs, helping them to develop confidence, independence, emotional resilience and life skills.
No two days are the same, and responsibilities may include:
- Supporting young people within the home and community.
- Promoting independence and daily living skills.
- Assisting with social activities and community engagement.
- Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing.
- Implementing support plans and behaviour strategies.
- Building positive and trusting professional relationships.
- Working alongside families, schools and professionals.
- Recording observations and maintaining accurate records.
- Safeguarding and advocating for the young person's needs.

Compliance Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants will be required to complete:
- Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce)
- Right to Work checks
- Employment reference checks
- Full employment history verification
- Relevant training certificates where applicable
- Safeguarding training compliance
- Completion of mandatory company training
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be advantageous for some placements.
