We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation seeking a passionate and committed Registered Manager to lead an Ofsted-registered children s residential home. As the Registered Manager, you will provide overall leadership, management, and day-to-day oversight of the home, ensuring full compliance with the Children s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. You will foster a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children in your care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operation of an Ofsted-registered children s residential home.
- Inspire, support and develop a high-performing team through effective leadership, supervision and coaching.
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation and company policies.
- Promote a positive, child-centred culture where children feel safe, valued and empowered.
- Develop and oversee tailored care plans that address each young person s individual needs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
- Monitor and drive positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Manage the home s budget and resources efficiently and responsibly.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all statutory notifications and reporting requirements promptly.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving and sustaining a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
About You
To excel in this role, you will have:
- Experience working within a children s residential home setting.
- At least one year s experience in a supervisory or management role within children s residential care.
- A robust understanding of safeguarding, child protection and the Ofsted regulatory framework.
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this qualification).
- Eligibility to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
- A resilient, compassionate and proactive approach to leadership.
Desirable
- Experience managing a home rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
- Therapeutic care experience or relevant training.
- Full UK driving licence.
