JOB OVERVIEW

Are you dynamic, personable, creative and empathetic with experience supporting women and people with multiple or complex needs?

Working as the Criminal Justice Support Worker you will support women involved in the criminal justice system, including women who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness, experiencing mental health challenges, affected by drugs or alcohol, or facing other barriers. The role will involve needs-led, strength-based and trauma-informed support to help women reduce the risk of re-offending, engage with services and move towards safer, more independent lives.

  • Prison Release Support: Engage with women before release from custody and provide support at the gate on the day of release where required
  • Group Work and Interventions: Deliver therapeutic group work, one-to-one sessions and psychosocial interventions that support positive lifestyle change
  • Advocacy and Appointments: Accompany women to appointments in the community and act as an advocate where required
  • Partnership Working: Build and maintain professional relationships with probation services, partner agencies and community organisations
  • Community Support Networks: Identify and support access to local resources, helping women build sustainable support networks and social capital
  • Records and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, update case management systems within deadlines and keep probation services informed of attendance and progress
  • Safeguarding and Compliance: Follow safeguarding, data protection, health and safety, UK GDPR and organisational requirements at all times
