Young People Support WorkerLocation: Salisbury Salary: £28,222 per annumContract: Permanent Hours: Rota basis Including 1x sleep in shift per weekRole Summary: An established charity is looking for compassionate and motivated Young People Support Workers to support young people as they develop the skills and confidence needed to live independently. Working within supported accommodation, you'll provide practical and emotional support to young people with a range of needs, helping them build resilience, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference while working within a supportive and values-driven organisation.Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Build positive, professional relationships with young people and provide person-centred support.
  • Complete assessments, support plans, risk assessments and regular reviews to help individuals achieve their goals.
  • Act as a Key Worker, delivering tailored support and monitoring progress towards independent living.
  • Support young people to develop essential life skills, including budgeting, cooking, shopping, cleaning, tenancy responsibilities and personal wellbeing.
  • Provide practical advice, advocacy and emotional support around housing, education, employment, training, health and welfare.
  • Encourage participation in social, leisure and community activities to promote independence and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals and other partner agencies.
  • Maintain accurate case records and update electronic support systems in line with organisational policies.
  • Promote safeguarding, health and safety, equality and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming accommodation environment for residents.
  • Participate in a flexible rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-in shifts.
About You:
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people within housing, social care, youth work or a similar setting.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and person-centred support.
  • Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Strong communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Confident working independently as well as part of a supportive team.
  • Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate case notes and support records.
  • A Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards one) in Health & Social Care, Youth Work or a related field.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
