A highly regarded legal practice is seeking to appoint a Grade A Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join its well-established and high-performing team. This is a senior-level opportunity offering genuine flexibility, high-quality work and a key role within a successful and expanding department.

The position supports flexible working arrangements, including predominantly remote working with occasional office attendance in Leeds, or a hybrid/office-based model depending on individual preference-providing an effective balance between autonomy and collaboration.

The Opportunity

You will join a thriving Clinical Negligence team known for its technical expertise and strong track record in handling complex, high-value claims. Working alongside experienced and accredited specialists in claimant clinical negligence, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the team's reputation for excellence.

This is a senior position with responsibility for managing a complex caseload while also contributing more broadly to team strategy, performance and development. You will be expected to take a proactive, commercially focused approach to litigation, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently while delivering a high standard of client care.

In addition, you will support the development of junior colleagues, share technical knowledge and contribute to the continued success and growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload of clinical negligence matters from instruction through to resolution
  • Make strategic and tactical decisions on case progression
  • Liaise with clients, medical experts, counsel and other stakeholders
  • Draft and review key legal documentation
  • Negotiate settlements and conduct litigation where appropriate
  • Contribute to departmental objectives, including financial and performance targets
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and technical support to junior team members
  • Maintain high standards of file management and compliance

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor or equivalent experience with a strong background in clinical negligence litigation
  • Proven ability to manage a varied and complex caseload independently
  • Strong commercial awareness and a strategic approach to case handling
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Confident working autonomously while contributing positively to team development
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with case management systems

The Offering

The firm offers a progressive and supportive working environment, where flexibility, wellbeing and professional growth are genuinely prioritised.

Key benefits include:

  • Flexible working options - remote, hybrid, or office-based
  • 35-hour working week
  • Discretionary performance-related bonus scheme
  • 35 days' annual leave including bank holidays and Christmas closure
  • Option to purchase additional annual leave
  • Long service holiday enhancements
  • Pension scheme with salary sacrifice options
  • Life assurance
  • Health cash plan (including dental, optical and everyday medical costs)
  • Enhanced parental leave and fertility support policies
  • Company sick pay
  • Regular social events and monthly recognition initiatives
  • Ongoing training and structured career development
