SEN Support Worker

Apply Now

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Are you patient, understanding and committed to helping every student reach their full potential? Do you have the enthusiasm and dedication to make a real difference in the lives of young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder?

The Role

As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, providing tailored support to help them access education and achieve their individual goals. You will work alongside teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to create a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.

Every student is different, so the ability to adapt your approach to suit individual needs is essential. You may be supporting students on a one-to-one basis or working with small groups, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop important life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with ASD.

  • Support communication, social interaction and emotional development.

  • Help students manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.

  • Work closely with teachers, parents and other professionals to monitor student progress.

  • Support students with sensory needs and emotional regulation.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is patient, compassionate and genuinely passionate about working with children with additional needs.

Previous experience supporting students with ASD, autism or other special educational needs would be highly beneficial. However, above all, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and the ability to build positive relationships with students.

You should have:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting.

  • An understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A calm, patient and adaptable approach.

  • The ability to remain positive and supportive in challenging situations.

  • A genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to work as part of a team.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the educational experience and everyday lives of students with ASD. You will be joining a supportive school environment where your contribution will be valued and where no two days will be the same.

Whether you already have experience in special educational needs or are looking to develop your career in this rewarding sector, we would love to hear from you.

Ready to make a difference? If you are enthusiastic, caring and committed to supporting students with additional needs, apply today and take the next step towards a rewarding career as an ASD Teaching Assistant!

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
