Bid Manager

Apply Now

An established and growing health and social care organisation is strengthening its commercial and business development capability and is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Manager.

This is an important role within the organisation, taking responsibility for the development, coordination and submission of high-quality bids and tenders across a range of services, including opportunities with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and the NHS.

We are looking for an accomplished bid professional with a proven track record of winning residential health and social care contracts. You will have a strong understanding of public sector commissioning and procurement, together with the ability to produce compelling, commercially sound and fully compliant tender submissions.

You will lead the end-to-end bid process, work closely with senior stakeholders and manage the development of the bid function, including line management of a Bid Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end bid and tender process for Local Authority, ICB and NHS opportunities.

  • Identify and assess suitable tender opportunities and coordinate Bid/No Bid meetings.

  • Take ownership of bid planning, writing, editing, reviewing and final submissions.

  • Produce clear, persuasive and compliant responses that demonstrate service quality and organisational capability.

  • Manage bid schedules, deadlines, submission requirements and quality assurance.

  • Coordinate input from internal teams, senior management and external bid consultants.

  • Work with operational and commercial leaders to develop service models and pricing strategies.

  • Line-manage, mentor and support the development of the Bid Coordinator.

  • Monitor procurement portals and maintain an effective tender pipeline.

  • Maintain a central library of bid content, evidence and supporting documentation.

  • Review tender feedback and identify opportunities to improve bid quality and success rates.

  • Develop bid processes, templates and governance arrangements.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record of successfully winning health and social care bids for Local Authorities and/or the NHS.

  • Strong knowledge of commissioning and public sector procurement within the care sector.

  • Excellent bid writing, editing, proofreading and compliance skills.

  • Practical experience using AI tools to support bid writing and development.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple submissions and competing deadlines.

  • Experience managing, mentoring or developing team members.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership.

  • Highly organised, analytical and detail-focused.

  • Understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and its implications for public sector tendering.

Desirable

  • Experience within adult social care, children's services or the wider health sector.

  • Familiarity with public sector tender portals.

  • Understanding of pricing models and commercial evaluation in health and social care tenders.

  • APMP qualification or an equivalent bid management certification.

To Apply

If you have a successful track record of winning health and social care tenders and are looking for an opportunity to take a lead role in a growing organisation, we would welcome your application.
