Registered Manager Supported Living

Location: Solihull
Salary: £40,750.36 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, including occasional weekend working
Type: Permanent

Are you an experienced Registered Manager with a passion for supporting autistic people and people with learning disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives?

We are currently recruiting for a Registered Manager to lead a brand-new, purpose-built supported living service in Solihull.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to take a key leadership role within a modern supported living scheme designed to provide a safe, empowering and person-centred home for autistic people and people with learning disabilities.

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the quality, compliance and operational delivery of the service, ensuring that tenants receive outstanding support that promotes independence, choice and personal development.

You will lead a flexible 24-hour staff team, work closely with families and external professionals, and ensure the service meets all CQC and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the supported living service.

  • Register with CQC and maintain high standards of compliance and quality.

  • Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated staff team.

  • Ensure support plans are person-centred, outcome-focused and co-produced wherever possible.

  • Promote independence, choice, dignity and positive risk-taking.

  • Ensure effective safeguarding procedures are followed.

  • Work closely with families, commissioners, social workers, health professionals and other stakeholders.

  • Promote Positive Behaviour Support and least restrictive practices.

  • Manage recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and staff development.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels, rotas and training requirements.

  • Complete audits, records, reports and CQC notifications to the required standard.

  • Manage budgets and contribute to the financial viability and development of the service.

  • Support referrals, occupancy and the future growth of the service.

  • Contribute to a 24-hour on-call rota.

About You

You will be an experienced care professional with a strong background in supported living, autism, learning disabilities or another relevant care setting, together with proven management experience.

You will ideally have:

  • A Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject.

  • Experience managing and developing care/support teams.

  • Experience of care and support planning.

  • Good knowledge of CQC and relevant social care legislation.

  • Knowledge of autism, learning disabilities and Positive Behaviour Support.

  • Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS.

  • Experience of safeguarding, risk assessment and positive risk management.

  • Experience managing budgets and service performance.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to lead by example and motivate a team.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting people to achieve greater independence.

A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent Registered Manager qualification) and qualifications or experience relating to autism, learning disabilities or Positive Behaviour Support would be advantageous.

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care manager to take ownership of a new, purpose-built supported living service and play a key role in shaping its culture, quality and future development.

You will have the opportunity to build and develop a strong team while making a meaningful difference to the lives of the people supported.

If you are an experienced Registered Manager looking for a new challenge where you can make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.
