We are looking for caring, resilient and committed Support Workers to join a dedicated team within a 3-bed children's residential home supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

You will work as part of a supportive team to provide high-quality care, guidance and encouragement, while creating a safe, stable and nurturing environment for the young people living in the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care, support and supervision to children and young people.
- Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with young people.
- Support young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help young people develop appropriate coping strategies.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management strategies.
- Support young people with education, activities, appointments and social opportunities.
- Promote independence, life skills and personal development.
- Respond appropriately to challenging or distressed behaviour using agreed strategies.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, incident reports and handovers.
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate professionally with colleagues and other professionals.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Participate in staff meetings, training and supervision.
- Support the home to maintain a warm, safe and positive environment.

Previous experience in children's residential care, EBD, challenging behaviour or a similar setting is desirable but not essential, depending on the candidate's experience and suitability for the role.
Working Hours
The role is 40 hours per week on a flexible shift pattern.The flexible nature of the role means that candidates must be prepared to work a range of shifts according to the needs of the home.
