Support Worker Spider is advertising on behalf of Julian Support, who are looking for Support Workers to join their ARCH (Accessing Resource from Crisis to Home) team on a full-time, permanent basis.

There are four opportunities available: three Support Worker positions covering Norwich/Central Norfolk, and one Support Worker position covering East Norfolk/Waveney.

Fantastic company package includes:

About the role:

As an ARCH Support Worker, you will provide person-centred, strengths-based support to people with complex needs, helping them build confidence, improve their wellbeing and develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible within their communities.

You will work alongside clients to identify their strengths, needs and personal goals, providing practical and emotional support with areas including housing, homelessness, tenancy sustainment, benefits, finances, daily living, routine building, life skills and accessing community services. You will also support people to develop positive social networks, engage with health and community services and access appropriate resources and opportunities.

Working closely with Recovery Coordinators, colleagues, families, carers, health professionals and partner organisations, you will help deliver effective support, advocate for clients and contribute to positive outcomes. You will maintain professional boundaries, complete accurate records and respond appropriately to safeguarding and changes in risk. Working hours for this role will be 37 hours per week.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred, strengths-based support to clients in their homes, community settings, temporary accommodation and other appropriate venues
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with people with complex needs, providing practical support with housing, homelessness, tenancy sustainment, benefits, finances, appointments and daily living
  • Support clients with areas including harm reduction, substance use, routine building, life skills, coping strategies and developing positive social networks
  • Work closely with Recovery Coordinators, colleagues and external agencies to identify appropriate resources, support plans and interventions that promote independence and recovery
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, while identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, changes in risk and other issues in line with organisational policies
  • Promote dignity, choice, equality and independence, liaising with health professionals, partner agencies and community organisations to help clients access appropriate support and achieve positive outcomes

About you:

As a Support Worker, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with people who may have complex needs. You will be compassionate, resilient and committed to empowering people to make informed choices, take ownership of their recovery and achieve greater independence.

You will be organised and able to manage your own workload, maintain accurate records and work confidently both independently and as part of a wider team. Experience of working with people with complex needs or providing support services would be advantageous, as would knowledge of mental health services and experience of lone working within a community setting. A willingness to travel and access to a vehicle for business use are essential.
