Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford from September.

The successful candidate will create a stimulating, engaging, and supportive environment where every child feels valued, confident, and inspired to develop their speech, language, and communication skills through targeted interventions and collaborative work.

Working as part of a collaborative and experienced school team, you will assess, plan, and deliver creative speech and language support, monitor children's progress, and foster strong relationships with teachers, parents, and carers. The school is looking for a therapist who is committed to promoting children's communication, social, and emotional development while maintaining high expectations for every learner.

The Role
  • Assess, plan, and deliver engaging, targeted speech and language therapy interventions in line with individual pupil needs.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that supports every child's communication development.
  • Observe, assess, and monitor children's speech and language progress, using evaluations to inform future support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and educational colleagues.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through guidance, staff training, and school events.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists to ensure the best possible communication outcomes for all children.
  • Uphold high standards of professional practice, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree/qualification and HCPC registration (or relevant professional status).
  • Has experience supporting speech, language, and communication needs within a school or educational setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has a strong understanding of child development and speech/language frameworks.
  • Is passionate about providing an engaging and nurturing support environment.
  • Promotes inclusive practices and supports the individual communication needs of every child.
  • Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
