Do you want to help people build brighter futures?

We re looking for a Recovery Navigator to join an innovative community mental health service supporting adults with moderate to severe mental health needs.
This is an opportunity to work alongside people to help them connect with their communities, build resilience and improve their wellbeing. You ll develop trusting, collaborative relationships and provide support that is genuinely tailored to each person s goals, circumstances, culture and social needs.
We are also able to offer this position as a Peer Recovery Navigator role for applicants who would like to draw on their own lived experience of mental health challenges and using mental health services to positively support others on their recovery journey.

About the role:

As a Recovery Navigator, you ll work as part of a multidisciplinary and partnership-based service, collaborating with people using the service, GPs, primary care colleagues, specialist mental health services and voluntary and community organisations.

You will:
  • Build warm, trusting and collaborative relationships with people accessing the service.
  • Work with individuals to develop and review person-centred support plans based on their goals, hopes and aspirations.
  • Use recovery-focused and evidence-based approaches to help people develop confidence, resilience and self-management skills.
  • Support people to navigate the wider system, including accessing help with housing, benefits, debt, employment, relationships and other practical issues.
  • Work collaboratively with health, social care and voluntary-sector partners to coordinate support and referrals.
  • Contribute to team handovers and multidisciplinary discussions.
  • Complete needs and risk assessments, contribute to risk management and work within safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and person-centred records.
  • Work flexibly across community and remote settings according to the needs of the service.
  • Promote equality, inclusion and cultural sensitivity, challenging stigma and discrimination.
  • Maintain hope and optimism, supporting people to identify their own strengths and achieve meaningful outcomes.
About you
  • We re looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and genuinely committed to a recovery-focused approach to mental health support.
  • You will have:
  • Significant experience of working with people experiencing mental health needs and/or complex needs.
  • Experience of supporting people with multiple and competing needs.
  • Experience of needs and/or risk assessment and support planning.
  • Knowledge of mental health, safeguarding, equality and health and safety.
  • Good communication, IT, literacy and organisational skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek advice or involve colleagues.
  • A commitment to reflective practice, supervision and your own ongoing learning and development.
  • A relevant professional qualification and knowledge of psychologically informed practice would be desirable, but we are particularly interested in the skills, experience and values you would bring to the role.
Peer Recovery Navigator
  • If you have your own lived experience of mental health challenges and/or using mental health services, we particularly welcome your application.
  • As a Peer Recovery Navigator, you ll have the opportunity to use your lived experience appropriately and safely to help inspire hope, build connection and support others in their recovery. The role also places importance on self-awareness, reflection and maintaining your own wellbeing.
What we value
  • Our approach is based on hope, recovery, collaboration, trust, diversity and continuous learning.
  • We believe that people should be supported to identify their own goals and solutions, overcome barriers and build lives that are meaningful to them. We work in partnership and place the person accessing support at the centre of decisions about their care and recovery.
  • We are committed to creating an inclusive service and welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including people with lived experience of mental health services.
