Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Care

Location: Dewsbury, Yorkshire

Employment Type: Full Time

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: 16.50 per hour, plus excellent overtime rates

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of the home and ensure young people receive consistently high-quality care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Working alongside the Home Manager in all aspects of running the home, including compliance, safeguarding, quality assurance and financial planning.
Leading and inspiring the team through effective supervision, appraisals, professional development and training.
Managing the home effectively in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Ensuring the home provides a safe, welcoming and homely environment.
Maintaining high standards of care and promoting positive outcomes for young people.
Managing health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
Ensuring the team's training remains up to date and compliant with requirements.
Liaising with professionals and contributing to effective care planning.
Acting as a positive role model for both staff and the young people in our care.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate and confident leader who is committed to supporting looked-after children and young people to achieve their potential.

Essential Requirements

Full UK manual driving licence.
Level 3 qualification in the Children's and Young People's Workforce.
At least 1 year's experience as a Senior Residential Care Worker within a children's home setting.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
The ability to build trusting and positive relationships with staff and young people.
The ability to act as a strong and positive role model for looked-after children.
Genuine care and compassion for working with children and young people.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and bank holidays.
