An Opportunity to Lead a Service Through Positive Transformation

Our client, an established provider of children's residential care services, is seeking an experienced and resilient Ofsted Registered Manager to lead the transformation of one of their children's homes in Manchester.

The home is currently undergoing a complete transformational change following an Inadequate Ofsted rating, and our client is looking for an exceptional leader who has the experience, determination and vision to successfully drive improvements and achieve positive outcomes.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable young people while being fully supported by an experienced senior leadership team who are committed to investing in the service and providing you with the tools, resources and autonomy needed to succeed.

The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the operational, regulatory and safeguarding performance of a 3-bed children's residential home.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead the service through its improvement journey, embedding a positive culture, developing your staff team, and ensuring the home progresses towards achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust service improvement plan.
  • Drive improvements following the home's previous Inadequate Ofsted outcome.

About You

We're looking for a proven leader who thrives on improving services and enjoys the challenge of leading positive change.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager within a children's residential home.
  • A demonstrable track record of successfully improving children's services, ideally following regulatory concerns or lower Ofsted ratings.
  • Experience leading services supporting young people with complex behaviours.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete if not already achieved).
  • Excellent knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, the Care Standards Act 2000 and the Guide to the Quality Standards.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
What Our Client Offers
  • Competitive salary of £65,000 - £67,000 per annum.
  • Full support from an experienced senior leadership team.
  • Investment in the service, with the resources and tools needed to deliver meaningful improvements.
  • The opportunity to lead a genuine turnaround project and make a lasting difference.
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.
