Our client is looking to reopen their solo bed children's home in London and are now seeking an excited, professional and motivated Registered Manager to lead the service. Their other homes are rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted and are committed to putting young people at the centre of everything they do.
As Registered Manager, you will be accountable for the overall running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with Children's Home Regulations.
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring care delivery is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for young people.
Taking responsibility for strategic planning, rota management, safeguarding and staff development.
Maintaining effective partnerships with professionals, agencies and the local community.
Taking a proactive role in staff supervision, mentoring, training, and ensuring high practice standards.
Requirements:
2-3 years' Registered Manager experience in a children's residential setting, with strong safeguarding knowledge.
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People (or equivalent).
Strong understanding of the Children's Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and Ofsted regulations.
Additional Information
The role is subject to a 6-month probationary period and a 3-month notice period (other than in disciplinary cases).
Candidates must be approved by Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
An Enhanced DBS check and thorough reference checks will be carried out prior to appointment.

The Home operates 5 nights per week, Wednesday to Sunday, all year round. Up to 5 children can stay per night.
Usual staffing levels are 6 day time staff, 1 sleep in staff and 2 waking night staff.
During the day there is usually an additional senior member of staff on duty.

The Role

This home has been registered since 2021 and has historically had some amazing outcomes for children. The company runs two Good children s homes and has plans to expand further in the future. After recently setting up a training company, they are also equipped to internally deliver Level 3, 5, and 7 qualifications, and have an in-house PRICE trainer.
The home is performing exceptionally well. You would be well supported by the senior management team, including the RI (who has over 20 years within the industry), the current RM who will step back into an operational role, and the company clinical lead. They currently have four young people in place. You would be walking into a fully staffed home with a Deputy Manager and Senior Team Leader (aspiring to step up), who both work 40-50% of their hours as off shift or admin time.
