Main purpose of the role:
The Residential Support Worker plays a vital role in providing safe, compassionate, and person-centred care to adults living within our residential service.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will support individuals with a range of needs to maintain their independence, develop daily living skills, and live fulfilling lives. Care & Support
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and wellbeing
- Build positive, appropriate relationships based on trust, respect, and consistency
- Support individuals in daily routines including personal care, activities, health appointments, and life skills
- Contribute to creating a warm, welcoming, and homely environment

Safeguarding
- Promote a strong safeguarding culture and maintain a safe environment at all times
- Recognise and respond appropriately to concerns, reporting in line with safeguarding procedures
- Maintain professional boundaries and act as a positive role model
- Support individuals to feel safe, respected, and heard
Professional Practice
- Follow care plans, risk assessments, and support strategies consistently
- Use positive approaches to support individuals who may experience distress or behavioural challenges
- Remain calm and professional in complex or high-pressure situations
- Demonstrate emotional resilience and reflective practice
Recording & Accountability
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional records.
- Contribute to care planning and review processes.
- Participate in handovers, team meetings, and supervision
Team Working
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent care practices.
- Communicate effectively and share relevant information.
- Take direction from senior staff while using initiative appropriately.
Partnership Working
- Engage respectfully with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and other partners
- Support individuals to maintain important relationships where appropriate
- Promote community involvement and inclusion
Development
- Undertake mandatory training and actively engage in ongoing professional development
- Work towards the Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care within required timescales if not already achieved

- Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
