We are seeking a dedicated Childrens Residential Support Worker to join our team in a children's home. This role is crucial in providing a safe, nurturing environment for young people aged between 5 and 17. You will be instrumental in promoting a caring atmosphere that meets individual needs while ensuring dignity, privacy, independence, and choice. This position requires a resilient, patient, and passionate individual who is eager to contribute to the development and well-being of children and young people.

Day-to-day of the role:

Maintain a firm, caring, and consistent environment for the children.
Supervise children and young people during various daily activities, including mealtimes and after school.
Participate in care planning, develop risk assessments, and manage behaviour.
Engage in recreational activities with children, demonstrating positive role modelling.
Manage small budgets for evening and weekend activities.
Promote social and emotional well-being and development.
Liaise with staff, professionals, and families to maintain high levels of professionalism.
Undertake administrative tasks related to the care of children, including record-keeping and reporting.
Assist in developing and implementing behaviour management strategies.
Support the healthcare needs of children, including attending medical appointments and managing reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce Diploma or a commitment to work towards it.
Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour.
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive information.
Proficient in IT, including email, internet, and electronic record-keeping.
Understanding of equality and diversity principles.
Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement.
