This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious and experienced children's social care professional to lead a flagship service from the ground up, helping shape its culture, build a high-performing team and establish a service committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

The home is undergoing a premium refurbishment, with completion anticipated within the next three to four months. The purpose-built facility will feature 12 ensuite bedrooms and professionally landscaped gardens, providing a high-quality environment designed to support children and young people with complex Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

With a competitive salary of £60,000 £75,000 and an attractive bonus scheme, this is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader who wants to make a genuine impact while taking ownership of a significant new service.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take the lead in preparing, launching and managing the home, ensuring the service delivers safe, therapeutic and child-centred care while meeting all relevant regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Service Launch and Ofsted Compliance: Lead the establishment of the home, developing and implementing robust policies, procedures and operational systems to meet Ofsted regulatory requirements.

  • Team Recruitment and Development: Recruit, train, develop and mentor a multidisciplinary team, creating a positive culture focused on safeguarding, professional development and excellent care.

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, effective safeguarding practices and positive therapeutic outcomes for children and young people.

  • Quality and Regulatory Performance: Drive continuous improvement, maintain regulatory compliance and work towards achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted judgement.

  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with Local Authorities, Children's Services and other relevant professionals to support referrals, placements and long-term collaboration.

  • Commercial and Financial Management: Manage budgets, monitor financial performance and ensure the service operates effectively and sustainably.

  • Strategic Development: Establish the home's reputation as a high-quality provider of specialist children's residential care.

About You

We are looking for an experienced, commercially aware and passionate Registered Manager who can combine strong operational leadership with a commitment to safeguarding and improving the lives of vulnerable children.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience managing a children's residential home or specialist residential service supporting children with EBD, SEND or complex needs.

  • A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, child protection and children's residential care standards.

  • A proven track record of managing Ofsted-regulated services, ideally achieving Good or Outstanding inspection outcomes.

  • Experience developing policies, procedures and quality assurance systems within children's social care.

  • Strong leadership skills, including recruiting, developing and managing a full residential care team.

  • Established professional relationships with Local Authorities, Children's Services and commissioning teams.

  • Experience managing budgets, occupancy, referrals and the commercial performance of a residential service.

  • The ability to lead a new service through its setup and development, establishing high standards from day one.

What's on Offer?
  • £60,000 £75,000 annual salary, dependent on experience.

  • An attractive bonus scheme.

  • The opportunity to lead a brand-new, purpose-built children's residential home.

  • The chance to build and shape your own team and establish a positive workplace culture.

  • A leadership role with significant responsibility for service development and quality.

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children and young people with complex EBD and SEND needs.
