Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home
Location: North West Leicestershire (LE67)

Salary: 60,000+ per annum - flexible and negotiable for the right candidate
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

Are you an experienced children's Registered Manager looking for an opportunity where quality of care genuinely comes first? Or perhaps an established Deputy Manager who has developed the experience and confidence to take responsibility for their own home?

We are working with a highly respected, independent specialist children's care organisation that is looking to appoint a Registered Manager for one of its established residential homes in North West Leicestershire.

This is an opportunity to join an organisation with a long-standing presence in children's residential care, a highly experienced leadership team and a genuine commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Unlike organisations where care can feel driven by targets and numbers, this provider has been developed by individuals who understand children's care first-hand. The directors come from care backgrounds and have built the organisation around creating positive environments for children and young people.

The result is a provider that values relationships, consistency, high standards and the importance of having the right people leading its homes.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an individual who can provide confident, compassionate and effective leadership within a children's residential setting.
The home is understood to be established, and the focus is on finding someone who can maintain high standards, nurture a positive team culture and continue developing the quality of care delivered to young people.

You will have responsibility for the overall operation of the home, working closely with senior management while having the opportunity to make a genuine impact on how the service is led and developed.
This role would suit an experienced Registered Manager who enjoys being involved in the life of a home, rather than simply overseeing its operation from a distance.

It would also be an excellent opportunity for a strong Deputy Manager who has been heavily involved in inspections, safeguarding, compliance and staff leadership, and is ready to move into registration.

Key Responsibilities
Overseeing the successful day-to-day management of the children's home.
Creating a warm, stable and supportive living environment where children feel safe and valued.
Leading the staff team with a visible, approachable and supportive management style.
Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, care planning, risk management and regulatory compliance.
Ensuring the home meets the requirements of Ofsted and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
Managing Ofsted inspection processes, quality monitoring and service improvement planning.
Recruiting, mentoring and developing staff to create a skilled and consistent team.
Working collaboratively with placing authorities, social workers, families and other professionals.
Promoting positive outcomes, personal development and independence for children and young people.
Working alongside senior leadership to identify opportunities to strengthen and continually improve the service.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their understanding of children's residential care and can demonstrate the leadership qualities required to manage a successful home.

Essential requirements include:

Significant experience within a children's residential care setting.
Experience in a Registered Manager position or substantial experience as a Deputy Manager.
Direct experience of Ofsted inspections and a clear understanding of the inspection framework.
Strong knowledge of children's residential regulations, safeguarding and the relevant Quality Standards.
Experience supervising, developing and leading staff teams.
The appropriate management experience and qualifications to meet Ofsted registration requirements.
A child-centred approach and the ability to develop positive relationships with children and colleagues.
The confidence to make decisions, address challenges and maintain high standards of care.
It would be particularly advantageous if you have:
A proven track record of successful Ofsted inspections.
Experience improving inspection outcomes or implementing quality improvement plans.
Experience supporting children with EBD, SEMH or complex needs.
A completed Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
Experience supporting a home through periods of development or change.

We are equally interested in the right attitude and leadership potential. If you are an experienced Deputy Manager who has played a significant role in managing a children's home, particularly through Ofsted inspections, we would encourage you to apply.

What Can You Expect?

One of the biggest attractions of this opportunity is the organisation itself.
This is an established provider with a strong understanding of children's residential care and a leadership team that recognises the importance of supporting its managers.
There is a genuine desire to invest in the right individuals, helping them develop professionally while providing the freedom and support required to deliver excellent care.

The package includes:
Salary starting around 60,000, with considerable flexibility based on experience and suitability.
Full-time, predominantly Monday-to-Friday working, with appropriate flexibility for management responsibilities.
A position within an established children's residential service.
Direct support from an experienced, care-led senior leadership team.
Access to excellent training and ongoing professional development.
Opportunities for long-term career progression within the organisation.
An opportunity to develop your leadership skills and make a lasting impact on a children's home.
A supportive working environment with a genuine emphasis on the wellbeing and development of children and staff.

The organisation understands that attracting exceptional leaders requires an attractive package, and salary is not considered a limiting factor when identifying the right individual.
Above all, they want someone who genuinely cares about the children they support, takes pride in the quality of their service and has the experience or potential to lead a successful residential home.

Interested?

Whether you're an established Registered Manager considering your next move or an experienced Deputy Manager ready for greater responsibility, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
If you're looking for an organisation where your experience is valued, your development is encouraged and children's needs remain the priority, this could be an excellent next step.

Apply now to find out more.

Appointment will be subject to appropriate safer recruitment checks, an enhanced DBS check and Ofsted registration requirements.

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
