About Bridge Housing UK

Bridge Housing UK is an established and growing supported accommodation provider, delivering housing-related support to vulnerable adults across Birmingham and surrounding areas.

We are committed to helping individuals overcome challenges, develop essential life skills, maintain stable accommodation and achieve greater independence.

We are currently recruiting dedicated, compassionate and motivated Support Workers to join our team. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for managing an allocated caseload of service users living in supported accommodation.

You will deliver structured, face-to-face support sessions, assess individual needs, develop personalised support plans and work with residents to achieve meaningful outcomes.

The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities and the confidence to work independently while maintaining high standards of safeguarding, documentation and professional conduct.

This is a housing-related support position and does not involve providing personal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an allocated caseload of vulnerable adults living in supported accommodation.

  • Conduct regular face-to-face support sessions and welfare checks.

  • Complete and review needs assessments, risk assessments and individual support plans.

  • Support residents with budgeting, welfare benefits, independent living skills and tenancy responsibilities.

  • Help residents access healthcare, mental health services, employment, education and community resources.

  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns, incidents and changes in service users' circumstances.

  • Promote tenancy sustainment, prevent homelessness and address housing-related concerns.

  • Identify and report property maintenance issues, health and safety hazards, damp and mould.

  • Maintain accurate, detailed and timely records of support sessions, interventions and outcomes.

  • Liaise with local authorities, housing providers, healthcare professionals and other external agencies.

  • Attend supervision, team meetings, training and professional development sessions.

  • Work collaboratively with management to maintain high standards of service delivery and regulatory compliance.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, supported accommodation, homelessness services or a related support environment.

  • Good understanding of safeguarding adults, professional boundaries and risk management.

  • Ability to complete support plans, risk assessments and professional case notes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent time management, organisation and ability to work independently.

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and electronic record-keeping systems.

  • Compassionate, reliable, professional and non-judgemental approach.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

  • Willingness to travel between properties across Birmingham.

  • Right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

Experience within supported exempt accommodation, homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment, mental health services or substance misuse support would be particularly beneficial.

A Level 3 qualification in Adult Health and Social Care, Housing or a related subject is desirable, although candidates without an existing qualification will be considered if they are willing to undertake the required training.

Mandatory Training and Professional Development

Bridge Housing UK is committed to maintaining high professional standards and investing in the development of its employees.

All successful candidates must hold or be willing to complete an appropriate Level 3 qualification in Adult Health and Social Care.

Employees who do not already hold the qualification will be expected to enrol on the company's approved training programme following successful completion of their probationary period.

Mandatory training will include safeguarding adults, mental health awareness, trauma-informed practice, fire safety, health and safety, lone working, professional boundaries, support planning, risk assessments and tenancy sustainment.

Employees will be expected to complete all mandatory training within the agreed timeframe and demonstrate the competencies required for their role.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay of £13.00 per hour.

  • Permanent full-time and part-time employment opportunities.

  • Structured induction and ongoing professional training.

  • Opportunities to achieve recognised Level 3 qualifications.

  • Regular supervision and management support.

  • Career development and progression opportunities.

  • A supportive, professional and growing organisation.

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to vulnerable adults and local communities.

Safeguarding and Recruitment

Bridge Housing UK is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults. Successful candidates will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including references, right-to-work verification and an Enhanced DBS check where eligible.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience and a commitment to high-quality support.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
