Early Help Support Worker (EHASH)

4Recruitment Services are seeking a an experienced Early Help Support Worker to join our client in Rochdale within their Early Help and Safeguarding Hub (EHASH).

Working as part of a dynamic multi-agency front-door team, you will play an important role in supporting children, young people and families by responding to referrals, gathering information, identifying needs and risks, and ensuring families receive the right support at the right time.

You will be responsible for triaging and screening referrals, gathering information from children, young people, parents/carers and professionals, and completing assessments and risk assessments where required. You will use your professional judgement to identify safeguarding concerns and ensure appropriate referrals are made to Children s Social Care or Early Help services.

The role will involve direct contact with families and professionals, including home visits where required, so excellent communication, engagement and relationship-building skills are essential.

You will need a good understanding of the services available to support vulnerable children, young people and families, together with experience of working with families presenting with complex needs.

Accurate and high-quality record keeping, information sharing and case recording are also key requirements. You will be expected to analyse information effectively and make clear recommendations regarding appropriate outcomes in line with relevant procedures, legislation and the Children's Needs and Response Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and screen referrals received into EHASH.
  • Gather and analyse information from families, children, young people and partner agencies.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns, risks and unmet needs.
  • Complete Early Help assessments and risk assessments where appropriate.
  • Provide advice, information and signposting to families and professionals.
  • Undertake home visits when required.
  • Make timely referrals to Children s Social Care and Early Help services.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely case records.
  • Make clear recommendations based on assessment and analysis.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and safeguarding frameworks.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant subject, or willingness to undertake a relevant qualification whilst in post.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and families, including those with complex needs.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment and contributing to packages of support.
  • Proven ability to gather, collate and analyse sensitive information and produce accurate case records and reports.
  • Experience and understanding of family-based assessments, particularly the Early Help Assessment Framework.
  • Good understanding of the Early Help offer and how it links to higher-level services within the Children's Needs and Response Framework.
  • Enhanced DBS check
