What you'll be doing;

  • List, package, label and assess hazardous waste drums both at customer premises and our facilities, ensuring full compliance with road transport, special waste regulations and environmental legislation
  • Collect wastes from customer sites, conduct site assessments for new enquiries, and maintain excellent customer relations while adhering to all site-specific rules and safety protocols
  • Sample wastes, pump and re-drum leaking containers, manage spillage clearance, and provide expert technical knowledge to customers and colleagues
  • Use IT systems to generate transport documents, complete labels accurately, and ensure swift processing of all paperwork including lists, receipts and transport documentation to meet customer expectations
  • Supervise dangerous loads, maintain stock levels of routine supplies, comply with COSHH regulations and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and support transfer station operations when required



What we're looking for;

  • A degree or HNC in Chemistry (or relevant scientific qualification) and a valid UK driving licence are essential; ADR certification, Forklift licence, and First Aid qualification would be highly desirable
  • Sound understanding of environmental legislation, hazardous waste regulations, and the ability to apply technical chemistry knowledge in practical, customer-focused situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, high level of literacy and numeracy, strong problem-solving abilities with a solutions-focused mindset, and meticulous attention to detail in documentation
  • Ability to work both independently on your own initiative and collaboratively as part of a team, with flexibility in working hours and enthusiasm for continuous learning and development
  • Commitment to maintaining company property and equipment to high standards, adherence to tachograph regulations where applicable, and a proactive approach to health, safety and customer service excellence
