Salary: Starting Salary is £51,356 (Level one) rising to £54,495 per annum (pro rata for part-time) Pay award pending

Lead, Inspire and Make a Difference

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step in your leadership career?

Nottingham City Council is seeking an ambitious and motivated Team Manager to lead and develop a skilled Occupational Therapy and Community Care Officer team. This is an exciting opportunity to influence practice, develop people and shape the future of Occupational Therapy within Adult Social Care and to lead the team through a period of transition as Adult Social Care moves to a new target operating model.

About the Role

As Team Manager, you will provide operational and professional leadership, supporting quality practice, workforce development and service improvement. Working alongside the Principal Occupational Therapist and key partners across health, housing and social care, you will help deliver Nottingham's vision of Enabling Gloriously Ordinary Lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support Occupational Therapy staff.

  • Manage performance, quality standards and statutory responsibilities.

  • Support complex case management and decision-making.

  • Promote strengths-based, person-centred practice.

  • Ensure compliance with Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding requirements.

  • Lead service improvement and support strategic developments.

  • Build strong partnerships across health, housing and community services.

  • Manage resources effectively to achieve positive outcomes.

About You

Essential

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.

  • Significant post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care, community services or a related setting.

  • Experience leading, supervising or managing staff.

  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding.

  • Excellent assessment, decision-making, communication and leadership skills.

  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

Desirable

  • Management qualification or leadership training.

  • Experience of service transformation and change management.

  • Knowledge of Disabled Facilities Grants and housing adaptations.

  • Experience in integrated health and social care settings.
