We are recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a 4-bed Ofsted-rated Good children s home in Yarnton, providing therapeutic, child-centred care.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will provide direct support to children and young people while leading shifts and supporting the wider children s residential care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Support daily routines, education, activities and independence.
- Provide therapeutic support and consistent boundaries.
- Lead shifts and support/guide Residential Support Workers.
- Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
- Maintain accurate records and incident reports.
- Promote safeguarding and child protection.
- Support children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Work with managers, social workers and other professionals.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing and homely environment.
About You
- 12+ months' experience working with children and young people.
- Level 3 Residential Childcare / Caring for Children & Young People qualification.
- Experience with therapeutic, child-centred approaches.
- Confident supporting emotional and behavioural needs.
- Experience leading or supporting a residential care team.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- Flexible for long days, weekends and sleep-ins.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Existing UK right to work; sponsorship unavailable.
