Following safeguarding, health and safety, moving and handling and infection-control procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Caring, patient and compassionate.
Confident supporting young people with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities.
Comfortable providing personal care in a professional, respectful and dignified manner.
Able to support learners with physical and mobility needs.
Calm and patient, particularly when supporting learners who may have complex needs.
A good communicator who can adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
Reliable, professional and able to work effectively as part of a wider team.
Committed to promoting independence, dignity and choice.
Able to follow individual care plans, risk assessments and professional guidance.
Willing to undertake relevant training, including moving and handling where required.
Experience
Previous experience working with young people or adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, SEND or additional needs would be highly desirable.
Experience of personal care, support work, education, residential care, healthcare or similar environments would also be beneficial.
However, we would consider candidates with transferable experience who demonstrate the right attitude, patience and commitment to supporting young people. Training can be provided where appropriate.
Why Join Us?
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist Post-16 setting where the focus is on helping young people develop the skills, confidence and independence they need for adulthood.
