What You ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Support Worker may include assisting service users with personal care, safe lifting and moving, administering medication, meal preparation, and providing general companionship. You ll work closely with care plans to ensure individuals maintain independence and dignity, providing the physical and emotional support that they might need to achieve their goals.
What We re Looking For
You must be over 18 years old and have the right to work in the UK.
Minimum 6 months experience in dealing with challenging behaviours, mental health and learning disabilities in a UK Care Setting.
PVMA or CPI training would be advantageous, but this can be provided.
Flexibility in your availability, with the ability to travel to different care settings.
A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively.
A clear enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration.

I am currently in residential college, planning to return home to live in the summer. I am looking for fun loving staff to support me six days a week. It is equally important that you can recognise when I need time and space to myself. You will need to read my cues, respecting my need for quiet, calming activities and environments when needed.

I m a 28-year-old lady with cerebral palsy and live in an adapted property in Hendy with my parents and siblings. I m a wheelchair user and hoisted for all transfers which requires 2:1 support throughout the day. I have complex physical needs and receive weekly input from a physiotherapist. I m unable to communicate verbally but have developed ways of communicating to make my needs and feelings known.
A typical day for me and my support workers would include assisting with my personal care and physio in the mornings, then usually I like to get out for the day. My favourite things to do are going to the cinema, going for brunch/lunch, going shopping and for coffee & cake, also I love being pampered, I go to the hairdressers regularly and like to have my nails done. I m fun, adventurous, have a wicked sense of humour and love banter. You ll need a positive outlook and be able to support me to access my current interests and help me try out some new activities.
I m looking for someone who will fit in with my existing small team of support workers, who are friendly, outgoing and share similar interests to me, we have so much fun, and every day is different. For this tole it is required to have some mode of transport E.G Driving licence with access to a vehicle or motorbike as this service is located in a very rural location.

You'll understand that behaviour is a form of communication and will be confident in using proactive, person-centred approaches that promote dignity, independence and positive outcomes.
