Clinical Nurse Manager - Mental Health Nursing

Location: Longsight, Manchester
Salary: 46-49k
Job Type: Full-time
Sector: Mental Health / Nursing Care

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an exciting Clinical Nurse Manager opportunity with a well-established and forward-thinking healthcare provider in Longsight, Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and play a key leadership role within a specialist nursing service.

The service provides high-quality, person-centred nursing care to adults across a range of complex needs, including mental health, dementia, substance misuse, degenerative conditions and other associated health needs.

You will join an organisation that is committed to continually improving the quality of care it provides and investing in both its residents and its people. The organisation has a strong focus on innovation, professional development and career progression, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career within healthcare leadership.

About the Role

As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will work closely with the wider management and multidisciplinary team to ensure consistently high standards of clinical care.

You will provide visible and supportive leadership to the nursing team, helping staff develop their clinical skills, confidence and knowledge while ensuring that residents receive safe, effective and genuinely person-centred care.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to both the people receiving care and the development of the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, supportive and visible clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Develop nursing staff through clinical supervision, appraisals, mentoring and ongoing support.
  • Lead and participate in staff reviews, team meetings and effective induction programmes.
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care.
  • Promote consistently high clinical and nursing standards across the service.
  • Work collaboratively with the Pharmacist to ensure safe and effective medicines management.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of clinical documentation and record keeping.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
  • Work effectively alongside the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the service and its clinical practices.
  • Participate in the on-call management rota.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse who has the confidence and leadership skills to support and develop a nursing team.

You will ideally have experience within mental health, complex care, nursing homes, specialist care or a similar clinical environment, together with a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality care.

You will be a confident communicator who can build positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NMC registration.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and nursing leadership skills.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or developing nursing staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is more than simply a management position. It is an opportunity to join an organisation that is forward-thinking, ambitious and committed to developing its people.

The organisation has a clear focus on improving mental health care through innovation, new approaches and the use of technology, while maintaining people and quality of care at the centre of everything it does.

For the right person, there is genuine scope to develop your leadership experience, broaden your clinical responsibilities and progress your career within the organisation.

Whether your long-term ambition is to progress further into senior clinical management or to strengthen your expertise within specialist mental health care, this role provides a strong platform for professional development.

Benefits

  • Career development and progression opportunities within the organisation.
  • Access to training and professional development.
  • Opportunities to progress within your local area.
  • NMC registration fees reimbursed.
  • Bank Holidays paid at time and a half.
  • Christmas Day paid at double time.
  • Birthday day off.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • Eye care vouchers.
  • Supportive and progressive working environment.
  • Opportunity to work within a specialist and diverse care setting.

The Service

The service is a well-established nursing care environment providing specialist support to adults with a range of complex needs.

With approximately 40 beds, the service provides a structured and supportive environment where residents receive individualised care designed around their needs, abilities and goals.

The philosophy is centred around creating a caring, inclusive and empowering environment, enabling residents to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

You will be joining a team that places significant value on people, care, environment and innovation and is committed to continually raising the standard of care provided.

Interested?

If you are an experienced Registered Nurse looking for your next step into clinical leadership, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a progressive organisation where you can make a genuine difference, develop your leadership skills and build a long-term career.

Apply today or contact us for a confidential discussion about the role and the wider opportunities available.
