Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Pay: £13.00 £15.00 per hour, depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a residential service supporting children and young people in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in children s residential care who understands the importance of consistency, structure, positive boundaries and creating a safe and nurturing environment for young people.
The Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to young people while helping maintain high standards across the service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children and young people with daily routines and activities
- Building positive, consistent and professional relationships
- Promoting independence, confidence and essential life skills
- Supporting education, appointments, activities and wellbeing
- Acting as a positive role model for young people
- Supporting and guiding colleagues during shifts
- Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and handovers
- Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Helping maintain a safe, structured and nurturing home environment
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children & Young People s Workforce, or a relevant equivalent qualification
- Previous experience within a children s home, supported accommodation or similar children s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour and complex situations
- Good communication, leadership and record keeping skills
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts
