We're currently recruiting for a Residential Manager on behalf of a well-established residential care home based in Wheatley Hill, Durham.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced care professional looking to take the lead in a rewarding management role. You'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring high standards of care, leading and developing a dedicated team, and creating a safe, supportive environment where residents can thrive.
Working closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals and regulatory bodies, you'll play a key role in maintaining compliance, driving quality improvements and supporting the continued success of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the residential care home, ensuring high-quality care and support is delivered at all times
- Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, health and safety requirements, and relevant legislation
- Develop, implement and monitor personalised care plans that promote dignity, independence and choice
- Oversee medication management and ensure clinical procedures are followed appropriately
- Lead, motivate and develop the care team to achieve exceptional standards of care
- Manage recruitment, training, supervision and performance management processes
- Coordinate staff rotas to ensure effective staffing levels and operational efficiency
- Monitor budgets, occupancy levels and overall financial performance of the service
- Support strategic decisions that contribute to the growth and reputation of the home
- Build positive relationships with residents, families and external stakeholders
- Liaise with local authorities, healthcare professionals and regulatory bodies
- Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive culture throughout the home
About You
- Previous management experience within a residential care, nursing home or supported living environment
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
- Excellent knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding and care sector regulations
- Experience managing budgets and financial performance
- Passionate about delivering high-quality person-centred care
- Ability to build strong relationships with residents, families and professionals
- Highly organised with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Committed to continuous professional development and service improvement
- Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or willingness to work towards it
