As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an important role in leading the team, supporting the day-to-day running of the service and helping the people we support achieve greater independence and live the life they choose.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the staff team during shifts, ensuring the service runs safely and effectively.
- Promote person-centred support, dignity, choice and independence.
- Lead by example and create a positive, supportive team environment.
- Support colleagues with guidance, induction, training and development.
- Work closely with management, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Manage safeguarding concerns, risks, incidents, medication and daily service requirements appropriately.
- Ensure support plans, risk assessments and records are maintained to a high standard.
- Support audits, quality monitoring and compliance across the service.
- Apply the principles of the Mental Capacity Act and make appropriate decisions in the absence of management.
- Identify training and development needs and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the service.
Essential
- Experience within health and social care, supported living or a similar environment.
- Previous experience in a senior, supervisory or experienced support worker role.
- Strong understanding of person-centred support and safeguarding.
- Good communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- A genuine commitment to supporting adults with learning disabilities to achieve greater independence.
- Motivation to develop your career and take on additional responsibility.
Desirable
- Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent.
- Previous Senior Support Worker or Team Leader experience.
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and medication management.
- Experience supporting staff development, audits and care documentation.
