Key responsibilities
Manage an allocated social work caseload of highly complex issues regularly featuring child protection issues and the Public Law Outline (PLO) processes.
Make, and implement, judgements and decisions with autonomy on cases with high levels of complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge with the oversight of the manager.
Plan and implement interventions designed to address needs and reduce risk.
Liaise with partner agencies to secure support and services for children and their families.
Lead on S47 (child protection) investigations.
Manage/Chair a range of multi-agency meetings designed to monitor and progress Child Protection Plans.
Complete legal documentation and file and serve legal papers where required.
Provide expertise in Social Work Practice for lesser experienced workers by leading by example when practising and by assisting others with complex matters when help is required.
