Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RGN) to join our well-established client based in Hitchin on a permanent basis.
This role is specifically for a Registered Nurse to work 3 day shifts per week, totalling 33 hours. The shifts run from 08:00 to 20:00
The successful candidate will join a highly regarded residential, nursing and dementia care provider, becoming part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional, person-centred care.
Essential Requirement EMAR ExperienceApplicants MUST have previous experience using EMAR (Electronic Medication Administration Records).
This is an essential requirement for the position. Candidates without EMAR experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Lead clinical night shifts and provide effective clinical oversight.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate personalised care plans.
Promote residents' independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
Provide clinical guidance and support to care staff.
Administer medication safely and accurately, including using the EMAR system.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medication records.
Identify and respond appropriately to changes in residents' conditions.
Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and liaise with healthcare professionals where required.
Support and mentor Care Assistants through guidance, training and coaching.
Act as a Named Nurse for a designated group of residents where required.
Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
Promote a positive, open and supportive team culture.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest professional standards.
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and report concerns promptly.
Deliver thorough and effective handovers between shifts.
Requirements
Valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (RGN/RN).
Previous hands-on experience using EMAR is essential.
Previous nursing experience within a care home, nursing home or similar healthcare setting.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good understanding of medication management and clinical documentation.
Willingness to complete mandatory and specialist training.
