Job Title: Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Sussex

Salary: Up to £50,000 FTE, dependent on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with flexible working across five days, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, with 52-week, summer contract and part-time options available. The summer contract offers five weeks off during the summer break plus 22 days' annual leave.

About the role

You'll work mainly in school settings with some clinic-based and remote opportunities where appropriate. Supporting children and young people with a range of communication and developmental needs, you'll combine direct therapy with assessment, consultation and practical strategies that make a difference beyond the therapy session.

In this role, you'll:

Assess children and young people with SEND, autism, developmental language needs, social communication differences, SEMH needs and more complex profiles.

Plan and deliver evidence-based, individualised interventions, including direct therapy, advice and consultation.

Contribute to EHCP assessments, reports and outcome reviews.

Work closely with teachers, parents, carers, SENCOs and multidisciplinary colleagues to embed communication support throughout the school day.

Review progress, adapt intervention plans and contribute to joined-up support for children with more complex needs.

It's a varied role where you'll balance assessment, therapy, consultation and collaboration, with the chance to make a visible difference to children, families and school teams every day.

What you'll need

  • BSc or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Experience in paediatric, school-based or EHCP-focused settings
It would be great if you also bring

Confidence supporting children and young people with complex communication, SEMH or behavioural needs

Experience completing assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans

Specialist CPD, training or trauma-informed practice experience
