Make a Real Difference Every Day

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can have a meaningful impact on someone's life?

Whether you have previous care experience or are looking to build a career in rehabilitation and support, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team helping a young woman with an acquired brain injury to live as independently and fully as possible.

Working in her own home and local community, you will play an important role in supporting her rehabilitation goals while helping her enjoy the activities and interests that matter to her.

Our client lives in her own home and really enjoys having support to maximise her potential; both with her social activities and running her home. She enjoys table tennis, walking, crafting (including her crochet club), volunteering, spending time at a day centre and spending time with her cat.

What You'll Be Doing

You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred rehabilitation support, including:

  • Supporting day-to-day living and promoting independence.
  • Assisting with meal planning and preparation.
  • Light domestic tasks: washing, gardening (including mowing), meal preparation (when client needs it) and general tidying
  • Supporting participation in social, leisure and community activities (use of own car required)
  • Reinforcing therapy programmes as agreed with the therapy team.
  • Assisting the client to work towards her personalised rehabilitation goals.
  • Supporting with correspondence, appointments and household responsibilities.

No two days are the same, making this a varied and rewarding role.

What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from people with a range of backgrounds who can demonstrate:

  • A caring, reliable and positive approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting people to achieve their goals.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience in care, support work, rehabilitation, healthcare, education, or related fields would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided and applicants with the right values, attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive induction and training programme.
  • Specialist brain injury and rehabilitation training.
  • Ongoing clinical supervision and support.
  • Regular appraisal and development opportunities.
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
  • Support from an experienced multidisciplinary team.
  • A welcoming and supportive working environment.
  • 24/7 on-call support.
  • Enhanced DBS check funded by the employer where required.

About Head First

Head First specialises in supporting individuals with brain injuries and complex needs. We provide comprehensive training, regular clinical supervision, and ongoing support to Rehabilitation Support Workers.

Please note that Head First recruits on behalf of its clients. Day-to-day management of the support team is provided by the client's Case Manager and Team Leader.

Equality and Diversity

Head First is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

This role is exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. Due to the nature of the personal care and support provided, being female is a genuine occupational requirement for this position.

If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for Head First, please do not hesitate to apply.
