Purpose of the Job:
The Military Medical Examiner is responsible for the safe, effective and timely delivery of medical assessments on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) - for new recruits to the Royal Navy, the Marines to conclude as to their suitability to be invited into the training program.
This involves adopting a holistic medical approach for overall health, and any key factors for further review as highlighted by a senior doctor s pre-assessment of a candidate s primary care notes.
Full training is given in this process and reference material is provided to support the clinicians.

In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary case reviews, design person-centred rehabilitation and recovery plans, and ensure clinical excellence across community-based packages. You will work in close partnership with NHS trusts, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Adult Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), allied health professionals (OTs, Physios), and local authorities to support community reintegration, foster independence, and reduce avoidable admissions.
