Location: Remote (UK-based)
Contract Type: Associate / Contractor
Rate: Competitive, per assessment

About the Role

We are seeking HCPC-registered Educational Psychologists to support the completion of Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs). While our preferred model is for psychologists to undertake face-to-face assessments where possible, we have created this opportunity specifically for professionals who can deliver high-quality remote assessments and advice for children and young people.

Working in partnership with the Senior Educational Psychologist, you will complete statutory assessments within required timescales and to the highest professional standards. Above all, we are looking for practitioners who place children, young people and families at the centre of their work and who demonstrate genuine care, compassion and professionalism in every interaction.

Our team is guided by the values:

  • Empowering
  • Mindful
  • Brave
  • Relational
  • Compassionate
  • Empathetic

We are seeking individuals who consistently work in line with these values and are committed to delivering an outstanding experience for the community we serve.

Key Responsibilities

The postholder will:

  • Work remotely in liaison with the Senior Educational Psychologist to complete Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments within statutory timescales.
  • Ensure that children and young people remain at the centre of the assessment process and are treated with dignity, care, compassion and respect.
  • Liaise effectively with educational settings, colleagues, children and young people, and their parents/carers throughout the assessment process.
  • Gather, analyse and interpret information from a range of sources to inform high-quality psychological advice and recommendations.
  • Produce clear, evidence-based and person-centred statutory advice and written reports.
  • Complete high-quality written records as part of the statutory assessment process.
  • Undertake quality assurance of all reports prior to submission and participate in wider Educational Psychology Service quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain the highest standards of data security, confidentiality and information governance.
  • Work professionally, independently and collaboratively to meet agreed deadlines and service expectations.
  • Maintain continuing professional development (CPD), supervision requirements and awareness of current developments within Educational Psychology and SEND practice.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a qualified Educational Psychologist.
  • Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Have experience of completing Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments and providing statutory psychological advice.
  • Demonstrate excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills.
  • Possess a strong understanding of SEND legislation and statutory processes.
  • Be able to work effectively within statutory timescales while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to child-centred practice and positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Have access to the technology and secure working environment required to undertake remote assessments and report writing.

Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, associates and contractors to share this commitment.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and protecting children and young people.
  • Comply with all safeguarding, information governance and data protection requirements.
  • Undergo appropriate safer recruitment checks prior to engagement, including:
    • Enhanced DBS check (with children's barred list check where applicable).
    • Verification of identity and right to work in the UK.
    • Verification of professional qualifications.
    • Verification of HCPC registration.
    • Satisfactory professional references.

What We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in hearing from Educational Psychologists who:

  • Can provide high-quality remote assessment services.
  • Are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for children, young people and families.
  • Share our values.
  • Take pride in producing high-quality, evidence-based work.
  • Value collaboration, reflection and continuous professional development.
