Essential Requirements

  • CIH Level 4 qualification (or above), or currently working towards achieving it.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in housing and tenancy management.
  • Proven experience of working confidently in partnership with local authorities and housing associations.
  • Strong understanding of housing management principles, tenancy management and resident engagement.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and work independently.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to service improvement.
  • Experience of reviewing and improving housing systems, processes and service delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team and alongside external service providers.

About you

To be considered, you should have:

  • Significant experience within adult social care, ideally in a residential setting
  • Proven management experience within a regulated care environment
  • Strong experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and behaviours that challenge
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or in a senior operational care role
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, an equivalent qualification, or be actively working towards one
  • Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS
  • Practical knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support, proactive strategies and de-escalation
  • Experience developing person-centred care and support plans
  • Experience managing incidents, safeguarding matters, complaints and investigations
  • Strong staff leadership, recruitment, supervision and performance-management experience

Experience supporting people with epilepsy, dysphagia, PEG feeding, diabetes, mobility needs, medication complexities or seizure management would be particularly valuable.

Previous experience of opening a new service, preparing for CQC registration or managing a service through inspection and improvement would also be advantageous.
