The Role

In this position, you will take the lead in progressing children's plans for adoption from the earliest stage, ensuring a structured and child-centred journey to permanence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of a child's journey from the point adoption is identified as a potential outcome
  • Working collaboratively with fieldwork teams when care plans are being twin tracked
  • Completing Child Permanence Reports (CPRs) and Sibling Assessments during court proceedings
  • Providing detailed, analytical reports outlining a child's needs based on their lived experiences
  • Supporting adopters with high-quality information to inform matching decisions
  • Leading on matching, introductions, and placement support
  • Acting as allocated social worker from Placement Order through to Adoption Order, ensuring children are fully supported throughout


About You

To be considered, you will have:
  • Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
  • Strong experience within children's services (adoption/permanence experience desirable)
  • Confidence in court work and high-quality report writing (CPRs essential)
  • Excellent analytical skills and a child-focused approach
  • Ability to manage complex cases and support families through change
