About the Role
Our support and safeguarding teams are nurturing and supportive with their own unique identities. They cover a large, diverse county with several offices across Northamptonshire including Northampton, Daventry, Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough.
These teams support children and young people who are subject to a Child Protection Plan, Child in Need plan and, where appropriate, court proceedings. This type of social work often takes place over several months and involves regular visits with families.

Purpose of the job
Under the supervision of the Team Manager and Senior Practitioner the post-holder will ensure that needs of adult social care clients are identified, safeguarded and met.
You will have practical knowledge and experience of social work practice within the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and demonstrate the ability to work within the Mental Health Act 1983 and 2007, Human Rights Act 1998 and Care Act 2014.
The post holder will apply the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards procedures to the assessment and review process and be able to practice independently in the Best Interest Assessor role.

Were looking for a driven and experienced Social Worker to join one of our 4 NCN Managed Care Teams. Based at Newports Civic Centre (this may alter based on service need) and in the community of Newport undertaking strengths-based assessments as per the SSWBA, reviews, short term pieces of work to maximise independence and well-being. Our NCNs work alongside adults of all ages in their own homes, home in residential/nursing placements or home in supported living and work in collaboration with other organisations and colleagues. This may include the older adult mental health teams, learning disability team, physical disability services.
You will be responsible for managing a caseload and ensuring documentation and electronic systems are accurate.
Experience in statutory managed care would be great alongside assessment and risk assessment skills. Skills needed are strengths based assessment and communication, time management, risk assessment and mitigation, working alongside families and carers and flexibility.
