Pay Rate: 34.31 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Agency/Temporary
Hours: Full-time

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with strong manual handling skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment?

We are recruiting for an Urgent Response Occupational Therapist to join a proactive and supportive team based in Colindale, London, providing urgent Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions across the borough of Barnet.

This is an excellent opportunity for an OT who is passionate about promoting independence, reducing risk and improving outcomes for adults with complex needs.

The Role

You will work as part of a specialist Urgent Response OT team, completing urgent Occupational Therapy and Moving & Handling Risk Assessments for individuals where there are immediate safety concerns. The role requires excellent clinical judgement, confidence working independently and strong experience in manual handling.

You will manage your own workload, provide expert recommendations and work collaboratively with health and social care professionals to ensure safe and effective support.

Key Responsibilities

Complete urgent OT and moving & handling assessments in the community.
Assess and manage complex manual handling risks.
Provide recommendations around equipment, transfers and safe mobility.
Respond to situations where individuals or carers are at immediate risk of injury.
Assess equipment needs where current equipment is unsuitable or unsafe.
Support safeguarding concerns linked to moving and handling or equipment.
Complete assessments for changes in care requirements, including double-handed care requests.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Strong community OT experience.
Excellent manual handling assessment skills.
Experience working independently and managing a caseload.
Ability to make confident clinical decisions in urgent situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive, positive and team-focused approach.
Car driver preferred due to the borough-wide community role.

Pay & Benefits
