About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in a 3-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children's home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people and is ready to take on additional responsibilities within a supportive and child-focused environment.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality care, ensuring the home operates in line with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards while promoting positive outcomes for the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, therapeutic care and support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
Act as a positive role model and build trusting, professional relationships with young people.
Lead shifts and support the wider staff team to ensure safe and effective care is delivered.
Assist with implementing and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
Support young people with education, daily routines, appointments, life skills, and recreational activities.
Maintain accurate records and complete reports to a high standard.
Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and the welfare of all children at all times.
Work closely with families, social workers, education providers, and other professionals.
Participate in sleep-in duties and work flexibly as required by the rota.
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience working with children and young people.
Experience within a residential children's home is highly desirable.
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice.
Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Full UK driving licence (preferred if required for the service).
