Casework Management

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of statutory SEND assessments.
  • Coordinate Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments in accordance with statutory legislation.

  • Act as the main point of contact for families throughout the assessment process.
  • Chair multi-agency meetings and work collaboratively with schools, health professionals and social care.

  • Maintain compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
Essential Requirements

Minimum 5 years' experience working as an SEN Case Officer.

Working knowledge of the SEN Module on Liquidlogic is essential.

Proven experience completing statutory EHCP assessments.

Strong understanding of:

  • Children and Families Act 2014
  • SEND Code of Practice
  • SEND Regulations

Experience managing large and complex caseloads.

Excellent report writing and EHCP drafting skills.

Ability to build positive relationships with parents, schools and partner agencies.

Strong organisational skills and ability to work to statutory deadlines.

Desirable
  • Experience working within a Local Authority SEND Team.
  • Experience attending mediation and SEND Tribunal processes.
  • Knowledge of SEND funding and specialist placements.
