About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Family Help Lead Practitioner to join a forward-thinking North West Local Authority. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children, young people and families through assessment, planning and the delivery of targeted interventions that improve outcomes and reduce risk.

Working within a multi-agency environment, you will provide high-quality, child-centred support using a strengths-based, trauma-informed and relationship-focused approach. You will work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to develop effective plans that enable children to remain safely within their families wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete holistic assessments of children, young people and families.
  • Develop, coordinate and review SMART family support plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with partner agencies to coordinate effective multi-agency support.
  • Chair family and multi-agency meetings where appropriate.
  • Advocate for children and families, ensuring children's voices remain central to all decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate case recordings and reports.
  • Contribute to Child Protection processes and, where required, undertake court-related work.
  • Promote strengths-based, trauma-informed and systemic practice throughout your work.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration, or an equivalent childcare qualification with substantial experience supporting children and families.
  • Significant experience working with children, young people and families within Family Help, Early Help or Children's Services.
  • Strong assessment, planning and intervention skills.
  • Experience working within multi-agency safeguarding environments.
  • Excellent communication, report writing and relationship-building skills.
  • A sound understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding procedures and the Families First Partnership framework.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
What's on Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.
  • Ongoing contract with an immediate start available.
