Role Overview

Flexible Bank Healthcare Technician opportunity offering shifts around your availability within a specialist private ophthalmology clinic. We are recruiting on behalf of a leading private eye care provider, and this Bank Healthcare Technician role offers the chance to build specialist experience across diagnostics, theatre support and patient care pathways.

Salary and Shift Information

  • Up to £16 per hour
  • Bank contract with shifts arranged around your availability
  • Based in LS23, BD10 and YO26

About the Opportunity

This is a strong fit for an experienced Healthcare Technician or Healthcare Assistant looking to develop within specialist eye care. You will work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team, supporting patients throughout their eye care journey diagnostic testing, pre-assessment, surgery days and post-operative care.

The clinic covers cataract surgery, glaucoma, refractive treatment and medical retina.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out ophthalmic diagnostic tests including OCT, Visual Fields, VA, IOP and Biometry
  • Support patients before and after clinical procedures
  • Assist with theatre preparation and clinical room setup
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and records
  • Follow infection prevention and clinical governance standards
  • Provide a professional and reassuring patient experience

Skills and Experience Required

You will ideally have experience working within a hospital, outpatient, clinic or theatre environment, with strong communication skills and a commitment to high-quality patient care. Ophthalmology experience is desirable but not essential.
