The Role
The successful Advanced Nurse Practitioner will independently assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients presenting with a wide variety of acute and minor illness conditions. They will work as an integral part of the clinical team, providing high-quality, evidence-based care whilst contributing to the ongoing development of services across the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with acute and minor illness.
- Prescribe medication safely and effectively (V300 Independent Prescribing essential).
- Order and interpret diagnostic investigations.
- Manage long-term conditions where appropriate.
- Provide health promotion and preventative care advice.
- Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and community services.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary primary care team.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using the practice clinical system.
- Support service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
- MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent).
- V300 Independent Prescribing qualification.
- Previous experience working within Primary Care or General Practice.
- Confident working autonomously and managing undifferentiated presentations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
