BBS Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting experienced Chefs and Catering Assistants to work on an ad hoc basis within a care environment in Malton, North Yorkshire.

Duties & Responsibilities for the Chef:

Prepare and cook nutritious meals in accordance with individual dietary requirements.
Follow the IDDSI Framework to prepare modified texture meals safely and accurately.
Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard and served on time.
Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
Comply with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and COSHH regulations.
Work collaboratively with the catering team to deliver an excellent service.

Chef Requirements:

Previous experience as a Chef, preferably within a care, healthcare, or similar environment.
Food Safety Level 2 Certificate
Knowledge and experience of the IDDSI Framework
Excellent understanding of food hygiene and allergen management.

Duties & Responsibilities for the Catering Assistant:

Support the chefs with food preparation and meal service.
Assist in serving meals to residents in line with dietary requirements.
Prepare food and beverages as directed.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment.
Wash up and assist with stock rotation and storage.
Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures at all times.

Catering Assistant Requirements:

Previous catering or kitchen experience.
Food Safety Certificate
Experience working within a care environment (essential).
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
