We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist provider of children's residential care for a qualified Therapist to support young people across two residential homes.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a multidisciplinary clinical team dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.

The Role

Working across two children's homes, you will provide therapeutic assessment, formulation and intervention for young people with a range of complex needs, including developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You will work closely with residential colleagues and other professionals to create therapeutic living environments that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive therapeutic and mental health assessments.
  • Develop personalised care and intervention plans based on clinical formulation.
  • Deliver individual therapeutic interventions and counselling.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
  • Support residential staff to embed trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches into everyday care.
  • Monitor and evaluate therapeutic outcomes, adapting interventions where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognised qualification in counselling, psychotherapy or a related therapeutic discipline.
  • Eligibility for membership with BACP or another recognised professional body.
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex emotional or behavioural needs.
  • Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practice and SEND.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
  • A compassionate, resilient and proactive approach to supporting vulnerable young people.

Additional qualifications in mental health or specialist therapeutic interventions would be advantageous.

What's on Offer

  • 35 days annual leave, including bank holidays.
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training.
  • Extensive clinical supervision and professional development.
  • Access to a large multidisciplinary clinical network.
  • Flexible employee benefits package.
  • Health and wellbeing support, including an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Healthcare cashback scheme for everyday medical expenses.
